Mayfair’s most sophisticated hotel since 1897ttadminDecember 22, 2019CultureMichelin Star0 Comments 02 min read As you walk along the fashionable Mount street with luxury designers such as Gianvito Rossi and Maison Goyard on either side, you can see the faint shadow of a low-rise building right at the end. There is a certain aura about the red-bricked Connaught Hotel which can only be achieved through its air of sophistication at the end of Carlos Place in Mayfair. A massive tree-shaped water sculpture by Japanese architect Tadao Ando overshadows the hotel. The same tree is decorated by Tracey Emin during Christmas season when the Connaught glistens for all of London to see the prominent British artist’s work. With plush upholstered beds and Bose speakers, the rooms are luxurious and comfortable. The suites in particular are incredibly lavish starting at 1700 GBP a night. The ambience of the hotel is classy yet somewhat informal in a charming setting. Key Attractions: Two Michelin-starred culinary cuisine- Helen Dorozze. The famous Jean Georges restaurant who brings his global empire to the heart of London in a conservatory-style restaraunt. Although a relatively smaller menu than Jean-Georges’ other restaraunts, the menu complements an informal gourmet dining experience (The Kale and Broccoli salad shown below). Also, notable for traditional high tea during midday. The Coburg hotel bar- incredibly popular and a favorite amongst locals and tourists. With couch-like seats to private booths on a carpeted floor with low-rise marble tables, the seating is comfortable for delicious comfort food and an extensive cocktail list. A Holistic Aman spa Suitable for: People who enjoy having great cuisine within the hotel. Location ideal in the centre of Mayfair with access to notable restaraunts’ such as Jamavar and Delfino’s down the street as well as a few minutes walk from Berkeley Square.
